KEEPING ALL OF YOUR WORK IN THREE FOLDERS CAN SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE AND LIGHTEN YOUR BAG

You should keep your class notes in notebooks (see how to take notes for details) and your class materials in binders or folders... But you don't need to carry all of these binders and folders with you all the time... some things should be kept in your locker or your study area at home for use when getting ready for quizzes, tests and exams... The rest of the time you should only carry what you need right now... that's where the three folder system comes in.

The idea behind the three folder system is to allow you to easily and simply keep track of all of your current work and get it in on time!

Everyday at school, you are given worksheets and other materials that you have keep and find later. Its easy to misplace these things... if you just stuff them in your bag at the end of a class. Assisted study has a plan to help. We use three folders (available from Mr. Lacroix):

Folder 1. Things I am working on: This folder is where you put all the worksheets, project descriptions and other things that have been assigned to you that you have not finished yet. (So you can find them when you need them.)

Folder 2. Things that are done: This folder includes all the completed work you are ready to hand in (even if it's not due yet). Each day, in each class, you will look here to find the things that are due to be passed in on that day. (So you can know where it is and hand it in on time)

Folder 3. Everything else: This is the place to put all of the things you need to keep that don't belong in one of the other two folders. It holds them only for a short time. Everyday,l go through this folder and clean it out. You should throw the junk away and keep the useful stuff in folders or binders at home for use in preparing for tests and exams.
