A Week Without Art at CBNA
The Coe-Brown Northwood Academy chapter of the National Art Honor Society has selected December 12-16, 2011 as a “Week without Art”. During this week the bare walls around the campus will be a reminder to everyone of the importance of the visual arts in our daily lives. On Friday, Dec. 9, after school, the members of NAHS will begin the process of removing the Permanent Art Collection and/or covering more permanent pieces. When school resumes on Monday, Dec. 12, the hallways that are usually adorned with the collection and special murals will void. During the week NAHS members will be using the time to clean, repair and re-photograph many of the pieces in the collection. When students, faculty and staff return to school on Monday, December 19, the permanent art collection will once again be re-hung in different locations in hopes to bring new recognition to the collection.
