Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

 

 

 

NORTHWOOD— “Once upon a time…” – thus begins the classic tale of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which will be presented by Coe-Brown Northwood Academy Theatre on March 20, 21 at 7 pm and on March 22 at 2 pm and 7 pm.

This delightful show, written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, with additional music by Tim Rice, tells the “tale as old as time” of the young beauty Belle, who sacrifices herself to save her father. In the process she succeeds in taming the Beast, and in turn finds herself and true love.

The cast includes seniors Kelly Dodge and Jesse Horne in the title roles as well as seniors Sara Archibald, Matthew Blake, Lorenzo Carideo, Gabriel Carling, Luke Deardorff, Tim Foss, Tyler Goodell, Charles Moak, Taylor Nelson, Meredith Overmyer, Katie Peterson, Kyle Starkweather, and Arianna Young; juniors David Berry, Lydia DeBenedictis, William Farrell, Jihong Im, Leigh Iber, Ryan Koenig, Jordan LaPointe, Addie Moreno, Cordelia Reagan, Lara Sakowski, Lucy Sutton and Michelle Wegner; sophomores Kiersten Brown, Jacob Brownell, Katie Chagnon, Josh Cunningham, Michael Dodge, Jennifer Matson, Stephanie Moore; and freshmen Aleisha Ashe, Grace Bascom, Maggie Blake, Allie DeFlumeri, Camerin Durgin, Brandon Marshall and Courtney Starkweather. Production stage managers are Abby Sargent, and Charley McGowan, assisted by Wendy Wegner. In addition, there are over 25 other students working in the orchestra and on backstage crews.

The production is directed by Elizabeth Lent, assisted by Jeremy Archer-Waterman; music direction is by David Deardorff and choreography is by Jennifer Squier, Tara Tenasco and Katie Peterson.

Reserved tickets for all performances are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and will be available after March 10 in the Main Office or by calling the school at 942-5531. Please note that seating is reserved and strictly limited to the number of seats available per performance, so call or stop by CBNA to reserve or to pick up your tickets early. If a performance is sold out, additional tickets at the door will not be available for that particular show.
