COE-BROWN STUDENTS EXPERIENCE EXTREME RUSH YOUTH CHALLENGE
NORTHWOOD Coe-Brown students and faculty
got the chance to test their fitness October 2nd on the
New Hampshire Army National Guards Extreme Rush Youth
Challenge obstacle course. Students challenged themselves
aerobically and physically as they ran through the inflatable
course, leaping and crawling over obstacles and sliding
down a 20 foot ramp to the finish line.
The New Hampshire Army National Guard loans
this obstacle course to local schools as a community service,
which provides awareness of the Guard. SFC Scott Roberts
and Sgt. Ken Welsby, based in Durham, NH, spent the day
talking with students and challenging them to complete the
course. Many students enthusiastically completed the course
multiple times, and some faculty members joined in the fun
as well. Based on the excitement and smiles of the students
completing the course, the day was a great success. The
New Hampshire Army National Guard is hoping to create a
state-wide championship for the obstacle course that will
involve students from many schools.
As a special surprise that day, the Guard
also brought in a NASCAR car that was of great interest
to the students in Coe-Browns automotive classes.
