CBNA FBLA Announces Award Winners
Northwood- The Coe-Brown Northwood Academy Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America is pleased to announce that seniors Caitlin McGann and Kaitlyn Maloy recently qualified to receive honorary FBLA sashes which they wore at recent graduation ceremonies. In order to attain this honor, students must prove that they have met the eight stringent requirements for eligibility. Each student must be an active FBLA Officer anytime during the high school career, must have attended at least on meeting a month, must have attended the fall Leadership Workshop or the Spring Leadership Conference during the senior year, must have attended at least one social event during senior year, must have participated in at least one fundraiser during senior year, must have participated in at least one civic/community service event during senior year, must have been inducted into the CBNA FBLA/PBL Chapter and must have received at least a ‘B’ average or above in all business classes taken. Recipient Caitlin McGann has been in FBLA since her sophomore year She held office positions all three years and ran activities such as the St. Patrick’s Day flowers, David’s House collection, and running the FBLA table for the incoming freshmen registration night. She won the FBLA Who’s Who last year. Recipient Kaitlyn Maloy has been an FBLA member since her freshman year and has been an officer all 4 years. She has been FBLA president for the past two years and has not only attended almost all the Fall Leadership Workshops and State Conferences each year, but has chaired many of the professional, service, civic, fundraising, and social events. It has been clear that her enthusiasm and commitment has helped our chapter win Honorary Chapter Awards for the past two years and she has won the FBLA Who’s Who this year. These two young ladies join an elite group of three other students attaining this honor in the past twenty years for CBNA’s FBLA Chapter. Chapter advisor Joanne Zylak congratulated these two students at a recent school assembly and said that these students will be sorely missed as they head off to college.
