COE-BROWN FACULTY EDUCATED ON INTERNET SAFETY FOR STUDENTS

NORTHWOOD-Returning faculty and staff of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy recently welcomed New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte for a presentation entitled "Connect with Your Kids". The goal of the program is to keep students safe on the internet.

Ms. Ayotte educated the group about the methods online predators use to connect with children, the rise of "cyberbullying", and the use and popularity of social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. Ms. Ayotte also discussed what parents, educators, and schools can do to help children safely navigate the internet, and provided all faculty with copies of the Internet Safety Guide for Parents and Teens produced by her office.

As Attorney General, Ms. Ayotte has fought to increase the criminal penalties for sexual predators, and worked to strengthen laws to protect New Hampshire residents against cyber crimes. For more information, go to www.connectwithyourkids.org
