COE-BROWN STUDENT COMPETES IN NATIONAL AWARD PROGRAM

NORTHWOOD—Tyler Patrick, a Coe-Brown Academy senior, has been nominated to compete in the national Principal’s Leadership Award (PLA) scholarship program, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Headmaster David Smith announced the nomination, which places Tyler in the national competition. One hundred national PLA winners will be chosen this spring to receive a college scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $12,000. Nominees were selected based on their leadership skills, participation in service organizations and clubs, achievement in the arts and sciences, employment experience, and academic record. They were also required to write an essay.

NASSP promotes the intellectual growth, academic achievement, character and leadership, and physical well being of youth through its programs. NASSP administers the National Honor Society, and the National Association of Student Councils.
