COE-BROWN STUDENTS MIX-IT-UP
AT LUNCH
NORTHWOOD The Operation Kindness organization
at Coe-Brown Academy recently held Mix-It-Up
Day in the schools dining hall. Students and faculty
were asked to move out of their comfort zone and meet someone
new. During three lunch periods, Operation Kindness members
distributed playing cards to students, who then matched
their cards to centerpieces on dining hall tables. This
random distribution ensured that everyone would meet someone
new. As an added incentive, all participants were entered
into a drawing for door prizes. Over 4 million students
from 10,000 schools participated in Mix-It-Up
day.
Mix-It-Up Day was part of a larger
World Kindness Week celebration held at Coe-Brown.
Daily kindness quotes were read each day during
morning announcements, and the week culminated with free
ice cream served after school.
Operation Kindness strives to support the
Kindness Movement, an international movement dedicated to
making the world a kinder place. Their goal is to demonstrate
the power of simple human kindness by promoting the practice
of kind acts on a regular basis.
